Owen Bailey insisted there was no panic among the Rovers squad as their search for a first league win of the season rumbled on.
Rovers collected a first victory last weekend at Forest Green Rovers and are looking to build on that result when hosting Gillingham at the Eco-Power Stadium.
When speaking to the media ahead of the visit of the Gills, Bailey admitted there was a sense of relief within the squad following last weekend’s triumph, even though there was never any doubt that the result was close.
He said: “It’s frustrating as players when you’re playing well and not quite getting the rub of the green. But everyone stuck together - management, players and everyone.
“We kept working and we knew what we were doing was the right thing. I think we got what we deserved on Saturday.
“It’s probably a bit of a relief to get the three points but we weren’t panicking and we were very much focused on the performances and playing well.”
