Robert Madley has been appointed referee for Rovers’ clash with Harrogate Town on Saturday.
The Wakefield official has taken charge of 18 matches this term, with the majority coming in the Sky Bet Championship. He has issued 84 yellow cards and six red across those games.
This will be the 37-year-old's first outing of the season refereeing a Rovers game but he previously handled them on two occasions over the two most recent prior campaigns.
His most recent game involving Rovers was last season's 3-1 defeat at the Eco-Power Stadium to Sunderland. The other game he officiated was the 1-0 home win over Lincoln City during the 2020/21 campaign.
Madley will be assisted by George Byrne and Carl Fitch-Jackson on Saturday while Aaron Bannister has been assigned fourth official duties.
