Moore wants quick response from Rovers

6 October 2020

Darren Moore says his team are looking forward to showing a response when they face Oldham Athletic in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night.

Rovers were beaten at Wigan Athletic last time out, and Moore is pleased to have another fixture so soon after that game.

He said: “It would be nice to get a win on Tuesday and edge closer to progressing, it’s good that it’s come around so quickly after the Wigan game.

“We’ll be going up against a team who are improving step by step under a new manager and they’ll provide a good test for us.

“They probably haven’t had the results they would have wanted but I can see patterns building in the way they play.”

With Joe Bursik, Danny Amos and Tyreece John-Jules all away on international duty, Moore is looking forward to seeing other players step up in their absence.

He added: “We’ve got a lot of players itching to get some game time which is good as a manager, and now it’s down to them to take their chance.

“We’ve had a good start to the season and there will be players who have been unfortunate not to get more minutes involved on Tuesday night.”
